A MAN who was found to be more than six times the drink drive limit has dodged jail despite it being his third such conviction.
Robert Grant, whose address was given as Ward Avenue, Falkirk, was caught on October 28 driving along the A977 Kincardine to Kinross road.
He was stopped by police and gave an alcohol breath reading of 123mcg in 100ml of breath – well above the current legal limit set at 22mcg.
His defence agent, Claire McCarron, told Alloa Sheriff Court last Thursday that the 39-year-old has no memory of even getting in the car that evening.
She said her client’s drinking got out of control after the breakdown of his relationship with his child’s mother.
Sheriff David Mackie told Grant that he would benefit from the help of a community payback order.
In sentencing, the accused was given 140 hours of unpaid work.
He was also placed under a supervision order for nine months and was disqualified from driving for three years.
