ST MUNGO’S Church in Alloa has managed to raise an astonishing £4,476 at their Christmas Fayre.
The fayre, which was held on November 18 at the church, was a roaring success with everyone having a great time while managing to raise the much-needed funds for the prayer house.
There were various stalls selling cake and candy, craft items, tombola and there was some fabulous entertaintment by some amazing young singers from the Forefront Theatre.
The money will go towards a number of causes, one of which will likely be the conservation works which are ongoing at the building.
A total of 16 MSPs have signed a motion lodged at Holyrood which welcomes a 19-week conservation project currently underway at the historic building, which will soon celebrate its 200th anniversary in its current guise.
Repairs are being carried out to the neo-perpendicular Gothic building, Session House and Porch roofs, external walls and a number of internal alterations are being made.
A ramp to give comparatively easy access to the Session House, kitchen, minister's vestry and additional toilets to those using wheelchairs or pushing buggies and prams has been installed.
