POLICE are investigating the theft of a Christmas tree from Asda last weekend.

Two men are said to have pinched the 6ft centrepiece at around 4.05pm on Saturday, December 9.

The first male, described as 5'5" with dark hair, a dark beard and wearing a dark shirt.

Another male, at around 5'7", was said to have brown hair and wearing a cream jacket and navy trousers.

The two were seen entering the shop before then buying items. They then swiped the tree from the front of the shop and left in a silver car.

This latest incident comes a week after a toy Santa was stolen from Iceland.

At around 7pm on Saturday, December 2, a women entered and took the display item which was being used for charitable purposes.

The Santa was then vandalised before shop staff intervened and chased the culprit away.
