TRAIN services once again started to run to and from Alloa this morning, following days of heavy snow.

Scotrail sent shuttles from Stirling since 11am this morning, though some disruption may well continue.

The 11.14 service left Alloa without any problems, as it ferried passengers towards Glasgow Queen Street.

However, the following 12.14 train did not reach Alloa due to a signalling fault. Instead the service was started from Stirling station.

The latest online timetable shows the 14.14 and the 15.14 are scheduled to run as normal.

Meanwhile, buses have also started to run through the county with the 62 and 63 routes in effect.

First Bus said yesterday that the 62B would continue to miss the Sauchie scheme area due to icy conditions; however, the situation is likely to change as road surfaces improve.

Schools in the Wee County will all be open tomorrow, though parents are being cautioned about taking cars in to car parks.

Some bus times for Lornshill and and Alva Academy pupils have also been amended.
