WEE COUNTY bin collections have now resumed, the council have confirmed.

Pick ups were suspended amid the heavy snow, with the majority of roads in Clacks impassable.

However, the blizzards have subsided and regular service will be returning to normal in phases.

First will be the blue and green bin collections, with the brown bin service kicking back in at the end of the month.

A spokesperson for Clackmannanshire Council said: "Refuse and kerbside collections have now resumed.

"We will empty any bins not collected because of the snow as soon as possible.

"Please leave your bin out for collection. Thank you for bearing with us as we catch up."

The statement added: "In order to catch up with the blue and green bin collections we have had to postpone the brown garden waste bin collections, which were due to start this week.

"The brown bin service will now start on Monday, March 26. Apologies for any inconvenience."

The council also confirmed that Forthbank Recycling Centre is now open.
