A WEE COUNTY group has been praised for its efforts in keeping the people of Clackmannanshire entertained with its musical abilities as they begin a search for new members.

Sauchie Community Group have been entertaining audiences across Clackmannanshire in a series of successful events including performing at the Tullibody Women’s Guild, CTSI Alloa Town Hall Christmas Concert, Sauchie Women’s Guild, Sauchie Pensioners Christmas dinner, and most recently at the Sauchie UF Church’s Easter service.

The choir recently picked up an award for their partnership with Bonnie McDowell from Sauchie & Coaslnaughton Parish Church for their sub group ‘Thank you for the music’ which sings with residents at the local care home who are living with Dementia.

The choir already has a number of bookings to carry on entertaining audiences across the central region and are now on a recruitment drive to increase their numbers.

Craig Miller, Sauchie Community Group Choir Leader said: “Since formation just over two years ago, Sauchie Community Group Choir have grown in confidence, ability and passion for music.

“We have a wide range of voices and abilities, but our focus is on the enjoyment of singing. We would love to see more people join the choir and to share the enjoyment of rehearsal and performance.

“There are lots of opportunities to perform and to entertain audiences. We have been performing all over Clackmannanshire & Stirling and have already been booked for several upcoming events. Everyone is welcome and no previous experience is necessary.”

The choir which meets weekly are inviting new members to join the 20 strong voices on a Wednesday night at the Sauchie Resource Centre at 7-8.30pm.
