A WEE COUNTY golf club raised £1,500 by holding a fashion show in order to pay for new greens after this year’s poor weather damaged the existing ones.

Muckhart Golf Club teamed up with Cashmere of Loch Leven to bring their members a wonderful show, with their ladies’ section members showing off the finest garments the company has to offer.

Jan King, who organised the evening, told the Advertiser that the night was a huge success – both for people on the night and the club in general.

She said: “We sold over 150 tickets and there was over 140 people there, so it was great. We have had no negative feedback whatsoever.

“We had the clothes from Loch Leven Cashmere and had Marilyn Childs Duncan, a former X Factor contestant singing at the start of the show.

“We managed to raise £1,500 which will go towards repairs for the course which has been damaged after this year’s terrible weather.”

Much of the money was raised through a raffle which had a top prize of a choice between afternoon tea or a round of golf, both at Gleneagles, which could cost upwards of £150 ordinarily.

There were also massive hampers on offer as well as £100 worth of cashmere garments for raffle winners.

Jan wished to thank everyone who went along on the night to make it such a great event, adding that the money takes them ever closer to their £30,000 goal which they have nearly hit.
