A WEE COUNTY man has been ordered to carry out a significant amount of unpaid work after pleading guilty to a number of charges.

Paul Wilkes appeared at Alloa Sheriff Court last Thursday for sentencing after pleading guilty to charges last month.

Susannah Hutchison, prosecuting, told the court that on September 13 of last year, Wilkes was given an order to not approach or contact his partner, with whom he has four kids with.

Wilkes then called a social worker to tell them that he had new living arrangements. When the social workers attended they witnessed Wilkes with his partner despite the court order.

Police were then called to the Hill Street address and were told by the accused that it’s “not true” as he lives next door.

Then on Christmas Day of last year, he visited his kids at his partner’s address and the couple were said to get on well.

Later that night she text him asking him to bring her something, which he refused to do. He then became annoyed at being asked by the woman.

Wilkes turned up at the door and asked if he could sleep on the couch as he had no where else to go, a request which was refused.

The 23-year-old, of Hillside, Tillicoultry, became enraged and began kicking the door which prompted the police to be called.

When police detained Wilkes he shouted: “I’ll f***ing kill” in the direction of his partner.

The final charge alleged that on March 13 this year his partner, who had just left Alloa Sheriff Court, was talking to someone on Drysdale Street with a pram when Wilkes stopped and tried to look in it.

The woman then walked away to which Wilkes, of no fixed abode, shouted: “You’re a f***ing mongo”. He was later arrested.

Sheriff Christopher Shead told his defence lawyer, Toni Pentecost, that he did not need to hear anything further from her.

He was given 210 hours of unpaid work and supervision for two years.
