A TULLIBODY man has been sent to prison after “reaching the end of the line”, according to a sheriff.

Gary Thomson appeared at Alloa Sheriff Court on Thursday, June 7, with six complaints against him, some of which dated back for more than a year.

Between April 7 and 11 last year, Thomson broke into Abercromby Primary School and removed a quantity of electrical items.

The court heard that the janitor returned to the school during the Easter holidays and found boxes of laptops scattered across the playground.

A month later, on May 16, on Main Street, Cambus, the accused shouted and swore at his wife and struck his fists against a wall.

The charge was amended to remove an allegation that he held a knife to his own throat and threatened to cut himself.

The argument broke out when Thomson called his wife “a slut” after she told him she was moving to Falkirk.

On September 1, 2017, Thomson caused over £200 worth of damage after kicking a door off its hinges at an address on Merchiston Avenue, Falkirk.

A neighbour observed the accused repeatedly banging and kicking the door, failing to desist despite being challenged by the neighbour.

Later that year, on December 3, the accused was seen by a person on Rae Street, Stenhousemuir, and described as “out his face” on drink or drugs.

The witness left his home to see where Thomson was going and saw him enter a garden and chap a window before start trying to open back doors.

When the witness challenged Thomson, he told him that he was collecting clothes for his wife, which the witness knew to be false as he knew the occupants of the properties.

He told police that he did not remember any of it as he was “full of Valium”.

On December 27, Thomson met with social workers and was accompanied by a woman, whom he identified as his wife.

Social workers were aware of bail conditions prohibiting Thomson contacting his wife, so phoned the police to report the breach.

Thomson was also arrested on March 8 this year and while in transit to Falkirk police office, Thomson became abusive and aggressive, uttering homophobic remarks.

After being forcibly restrained at the station, Thomson told police he “will bite the f*****g faces” off them, called one officer a “ginger p**f” and threatened to kill himself.

The 25-year-old’s final charge, from April 20 of this year, states that he caused fear to his wife and struggled with her at an address in Larbert.

Neighbours said they heard his wife shouting “get out” and “oh my god, help", during the altercation.

Police were later called and Thomson was found hiding under a bed.

Kelly Howe, defending, told the court that her client struggles to control his alcohol and drug issues.

Sheriff Dickson told Thomson, of Carseview, that he had been given too many chances and had “reached the end of the line”.

He was sentenced to 21 months in prison for the offences.
