VISITORS to Stirling will be feeling free and easy this Saturday with parking charges lifted from all council car parks in the city centre.

To coincide with the start of the school holidays and Stirling Armed Forces Day, no pay and display charges will be in force at Forthside, Linden Avenue, Wellgreen and Dalgleish Court car parks on Saturday June 30, while the Wellgreen NCP multi-story car park will be free all weekend.

On-street parking zones within the City Centre area will also be free but it should be noted that normal restrictions will apply for all other traffic restrictions, such as double yellow lines, bus stops, taxi ranks, disabled parking, and residents’ parking and loading bays.

It is hoped the temporary removal of parking charges will make it easier for residents and visitors to come into the city centre on a busy day of free fun, focusing on Armed Forces Day at King’s Park.

Entertainment at the park starts on stage with the Kennedy Cupcakes dancers at 12noon before the official parade steps off from Port Street at 12.05pm.
