A TULLIBODY man has been given a supervision order after admitting that he called his wife a “trollop”.
Steven Stewart appeared at Alloa Sheriff Court on Thursday, June 21, to find out his sentence after pleading guilty in May to a charge of causing fear and alarm to his wife by shouting, swearing and uttering offensive remarks at her.
Susannah Hutchison, prosecuting, told the court that on May 6, the accused left the marital home on Ladywell Place with a friend, arriving back at the home at lunchtime the following day.
His wife had noticed that he was acting erratically and aggressively so decided to give him space, according to Ms Hutchison.
Later on that night, around 8.25pm, Stewart’s wife heard the accused banging around downstairs before he began shouting in her face, at which point she phoned the police.
After she left the home on the advice of the emergency services call handler, the accused shouted insults at her, calling her “a trollop”.
Stewart left the property before the police arrived. He handed himself into Falkirk police station nine days later on May 16.
Sheriff David Mackie sentenced the 44-year-old to nine months' supervision.
