VOLUNTEERS led a clean-up of Gartmorn Dam – in a bid to keep the area clear from litter this summer.

Staff from McDonald's Alloa joined Clacks MP Luke Graham and his office manager Moira Benny at beauty spot.

The event was part of the Clean Up Scotland campaign and was organised by staff of the restaurant's franchisee Elliot Jardine.

Russel Parker, business manager for McDonald’s, said: “I was really proud to see everyone come together and help tidy up Gartmorn Dam.

"It’s a key priority of ours to ensure that the local area remains free of litter and an enjoyable place to live, work and visit."

Mr Graham added: “It was great to be out with the Alloa team, joining the litter pick at Gartmorn Dam.

“We have some areas of outstanding natural beauty in Clackmannanshire, and across Ochil & South Perthshire.

“It is so important we protect our environment, and although picking up some litter is just a small act, it can make a big difference.”
