A LUXURY Clacks hotel has unveiled a fantastic expansion after being named runner up at a prestigious awards ceremony.

Inglewood House and Spa were awarded runners up in the Luxury Spa of the Year category at this year's Scottish Beauty Industry Awards.

The recognition was no mean feat when considering their competition included Glasgow’s Blythswood Hotel, Gleneagles, Sheraton One Spa and Stobo Castle.

Ewan Campbell, who owns the hotel, said the result came as pleasant surprise, and announce a new addition to the hotel in the form of "woodland pods".

He said: “Being announced as runners up against some of Scotland’s most prestigious hotels and spas has been a fantastic surprise. We were shocked even to be named as finalists but to be placed just shows how far we have come since we opened in 2016.

“I would like to thank all Inglewood House and Spa staff for their hard work throughout the year and all our customers for their continued support.”

The hard work does not stop there for Inglewood, however, as they have announced that an expansion has been approved which will result in a number of lodges being built on-site.

A recent planning application has been approved for the expansion of the hotel kitchen and installation of four woodland lodges. Work on the kitchen has already been completed and the woodland pods will be opened over the coming weeks.

Ewan explained that the hotel’s success was the primary thinking behind the move.

He said: "We receive hundreds of calls from event organisers, couples hoping to get married at Inglewood House and, sadly, we have to turn a lot of them away. This new development means we can meet this demand while continuing to welcome hotel and restaurant guests all year round."

The continued success of Inglewood House and Spa is a welcome boost for the local and surrounding economy with the creation of a number of additional jobs, adding to the 45 jobs that have already been created.

The hotel is currently advertising for a breakfast chef, spa therapist, F&B assistants and housekeeping staff.

Ewan added: “Since we opened in 2015 Inglewood House and Spa has been a real success story, with the hotel and spa far exceeding expectations and often operating at capacity.

“We are now hoping to build on this success by extending the kitchen facilities and accommodation as well as growing the team."
