Banchory Primary became an emotional place last month as the primary seven pupils and nursery kids bid a fond farewell before moving on to bigger things.

The group of primary school leavers, of which there are only eight this year, created their very own farewell show which was called I’m a P7 Leaver, Get Me Out of Here.

The pupils created everything from choreographing all the dances to even preparing their own emotional leaving speeches which left the room without a dry eye.

The P5 and P6 pupils had gone around the school collecting good luck messages for them and the teachers had prepared a ‘best bits’ montage of the group with pictures and videos played in front of the audience of parents and carers.

All eight of the pupils will move on to Lornshill Academy together having formed a tight bond with it being a small class, and Donna Smith, a teacher at the school, expects them to carry on being great role models when they do move up.

She said: “We know that they will continue to be the very best they can be at Lornshill. They have all been very positive role models here at the school and the groups coming up to P7 really looked up to them.”

The nursery leavers held an event too in which all of the children dressed up in different occupations such as police officers, builders and even a pirate for the more ambitious of the bunch.

Those kids will move up to primary one after the summer.
