A SITE manager from Alloa has received a prestigious industry accolade.

Ian Welsh won the 2018 National Home Building Council Pride in the Job Quality Award in recognition of his work around Midlothian.

He was one of 300 to receive the award from the 16,000 site managers who applied and was recognised for his top quality work at the Mayburn Park development in Straiton.

Ian, who works with CALA Homes, will now go through the next stage of the competition, the Seal of Excellence Awards, with winners due to be announced this autumn.

He said: “Winning the Pride in the Job Quality Award at Mayburn Park for a second consecutive year proves the consistent quality levels we have achieved over the last two years, which would not have been attainable without a strong site team and management team.

“It is a proud moment for all of us.

“I have worked in site management for 15 years and as a site manager I pride myself on delivering a high-quality product on time.

“This industry recognition demonstrates our passion for consistent quality and workmanship at Mayburn Park.”

As well as undergoing spot checks, site managers in the awards scheme are assessed across 37 different areas including technical knowledge, quality and consistency.

David McGrath, managing director of CALA Homes (East), said: “NHBC Pride in the Job is the highest industry accolade a site manager can receive and we are delighted for both Ian and the whole team at Mayburn Park that they have been recognised in this way.”
