BUS operator First is looking to shake up services in the wider area.

New routes numbered 51 and 52 would link Alloa with Tullibody, Stirling Bannockburn and Cowie as well as Menstrie, Tillicoultry and Sauchie.

It is understood services 60, 62 and 63 would be phased out and the new services would run every 30 minutes.

Clackmannan’s links to Alloa would be maintained through the H1 and H2 buses and through Mackie’s MA1 and Stagecoach service 8.

Andrew Jarvis, managing director of First Scotland East, said: “First Scotland East can confirm that we are currently undertaking a consultation process as part of our on-going network review across Stirling and Clackmannanshire.

“We will be engaging with Stirling and Clackmannanshire Councils as well as customers and other local stakeholders on our current proposals for network changes across these areas.

“On Friday, July 20, we are hosting a ‘meet the managers’ consultation event at Stirling Bus Station between 10am and 5pm to engage with our customers on the proposed changes.

“We would therefore like to invite passengers to come and have their say, and give us their feedback, thoughts and opinions on the changes.

“This feedback is invaluable to us and we will then review all of the comments and suggestions provided to us during the entire consultation process.”

Views are being sought on the proposals by Monday, July 23, by 5pm via surveymonkey.co.uk/r/StirlingNetwork

The manager added: “While we are aware that these changes cannot please everyone, we hope that by the end of this process, we will be in a position to make the necessary changes that will improve our local bus network to the benefit of our passengers.”
