THE annual fun dog show from Clackmannan Development Trust (CDT) will return this weekend.

Whether it is a cute cocker spaniel, a stunning saint Bernard, a dashing dachshund or something else entirely, people can enter their pooches into the popular event.

The dog show will form part of the Clackmannan Gala Day, which takes place at Alexander Park on Saturday, July 21, 12-4pm.

Owners can register their pawfect pooches at the CDT office ahead of time.

Or between 12-1.30pm they can pop along to the CDT stall at the gala, ahead of the judging which starts at 1.30pm.

Isla Molloy from CDT said: “We are really excited to have the dog show back again this year.

"It was so great to see all the gorgeous dogs and their proud owners last year that we were keen to host it again.

"We are also delighted to have Cani-Fit come back to provide some demonstrations and information on the day and we have some great prizes from Pets Direct too."

Categories on the day will include Best Pup (must be over three months and be fully vaccinated), Best Bitch, Best Dog, Best 6 Legs, Best Junior Handler and Waggiest Tail.

Entry fee is £1 per dog/per category and the first from each category will then be put through to the Best in Show, where a prize will be awarded.

The Dog Poo Detectives, an initiative created by CDT and Clackmannan Primary School to help tackle dog fowling in the town, will also be supporting the show by informing visitors of their project and handing out some goodies.

Funds raised from this event will go towards the town’s fundraising appeal to buy a community defibrillator.
