A BRIDE’S dream came true when she got to pose with Blair Drummond Safari Park giraffes on the big day.

Alexandra McDaid, from Falkirk, received the special wedding gift from mother Margaret Canville at the weekend.

She, along with groom Christopher, arrived in full wedding dresses and had the chance to feed the animals with the wedding party in attendance.

The park’s marketing manager Luz Gunn said: “Margaret got in touch to tell us that her daughter Alexandra was getting married in Callander on July 21 and that ever since she was a child Alex had wanted to have the safari park as part of her celebrations.

“The wedding party had planned to visit the safari park the day after the wedding, and the mother-of-the pride asked if there was anything we could do to make the visit a little special.

“We were delighted to help.”

Operations supervisor Dave Warren was on hand to capture the special moment on camera and said: “It’s not every day that we have a visitor at the park in her wedding dress!

“Everybody was very pleased to help put together this special experience for the happy couple.”

Margaret added: “Alexandra and Christopher were so excited when I told them it was a possibility and they really loved the experience of feeding the giraffes. Thank you for the fantastic day.”
