A RUGBY camp held as part of Tillicoultry community week has been deemed a success by organisers.

Hillfoots RFC held the sessions which aimed to give every child in Clackmannanshire the opportunity to try their hand at rugby.

The annual summer camp was run in conjunction with Clackmannanshire Council’s active summer programme.

The event, which was open to boys and girls of primary school age, ran from 9am until 12.30pm every day until August 16.

The kids were also given a special treat as the Calcutta Cup, which Scotland won after beating England during this year’s Six Nations, was brought to the park to allow kids to have their picture taken with it.

Additionally, last weekend was the Scottish Rugby Union’s RugbyForce Weekend sponsored by RBS.

Hillfoots RFC was fortunate enough to have been awarded £250 to help spruce the club up for the new season.

After the hard work, the club held a barbeque for those who helped out, which coincided community week barbeque with the local Scout troop.
