THE Sauchie Gala was as popular as ever this year, with Wee County residents enjoying all the activities on offer on Saturday, August 25, at Mar Place.

As well as a bouncy castle, bungee trampoline, climbing wall and pipe band, there were also performances from the Alloa Gymnastics Team, Beats of Brazil group and highland dancers.

Sandra Gruar, chairperson of the organising group Sauchie Activ8, said: "It was a good day, with the turnout beating the number of people who came last year.

"Everything was really popular so I couldn't really say there was one thing that was best about the day."

Youngsters could also get their face painted, and enjoy an ice cream in the sunny weekend weather.

The Gala Queen Taylor Macfarlane, King Kaleb Allison, Princess Billierose Eadie and Prince Alexander Jackson were all in attendance on the day.

The Bonnie Baby competition winner was little Lilly-May Spence, with Kai Macara second and Finn Eadie third.

The kids' fancy dress winner was young Reagan Macara with a fantastic Humpty Dumpty outfit, followed by Kyrie Hay and Katie Law.

Rochelle Hunter took first place in the adults fancy dress, with Heather Lindsay coming second and Kelvyn Lindsay in third.

Sandra Gruar added: "I would like to thank the public for coming, and all the performers and stall holders as well as everyone at Activ8 for their hard work."
