AN ALVA woman was killed in a car crash in Fife last week, police have confirmed.

Michelle Russell, 38, sustained serious injuries after her Vauxhall Astra collided with a trailer, which was being towed by a Land Rover Discovery, at the Saline Hotel on Thursday, August 30.

Emergency services responded to the scene, where, despite the best efforts of the paramedics, Michelle was pronounced dead at the scene.

In a statement released through Police Scotland, Michelle's family said: "Michelle was a loved daughter, sister and auntie.

"We will miss her so much and would appreciate complete privacy for the family."

Sergeant Ewan Pearce, from Fife's road policing unit, added: "Our thoughts and deepest sympathies remain with Michelle's family at this very difficult time and our inquiries into the full circumstances of this collision continue.

"If you were on the B913 road at the Saline Hotel at around 10am on Thursday and witnessed what happened, or have any other information relevant to our investigation, then please contact police immediately."
