A STALKER kept track of his ex-girlfriend's movements before fighting with several members of her family in a Wee County street.

Graeme McCall admitted three charges against him after appearing at a trial diet at Alloa Sheriff Court previously and appeared again on Thursday, September 13, for sentencing.

The charges against McCall state that on various occasions between April 20 and 22 at Delphwood Crescent and Ashley Terrace, the accused engaged in a course of conduct which caused his former partner fear and alarm.

He did so by repeatedly sending the complainer texts and phoning her, utter threats of violence and threats to self-harm and also attended at and enter uninvited the home address of a member of her family.

The accused then made enquiries about her, and indicated that he had been monitoring her movement, all in the knowledge that all contact was unwanted.

The second charge alleged that McCall uttered threats of violence on April 22 and struck his own head against his car before engaging in a fight with “various others”.

A final charge of assault, against a female member of the complainer’s family, states that he seized her by the hair and pulled her to the ground.

Three further assault charges were dropped.

Claire McCarron, defending the 29-year-old, told the court that her client had been in a relationship with the main complainer for two years.

That relationship began to come to an end which caused McCall’s mental health to deteriorate as he “struggled to deal” with the decline.

“In hindsight, he sees his behaviour was unacceptable,” added Ms McCarron.

In reference to the assaults, Ms McCarron, said that McCall was going to his current girlfriend’s house following a night out when the mother of the complainer saw him and asked what he was doing in that street.

McCall then acted aggressively before other members of the family joined the scene. The accused then lashed out as he “felt threatened” before he started banging his head against his car.

Sheriff David Mackie sentenced McCall, of Masonfield Avenue, to 12 months of supervision.
