A GROUP for former soldiers in Clackmannanshire celebrated its third anniversary last week.

The Wee County Veterans Group marked the occasion when members got together at Sauchie Resource Centre.

MSP Keith Brown said the group has been going from “strength to strength” and submitted a motion in parliament.

It commends the "hard work of all concerned, which has seen the group grow over the last three years; recognises the importance of this work, which brings together veterans, their families and supporters from all over the county to events and activities: understands the group marked its third anniversary with a celebration attended by members and guests on 14 September 2018 at Sauchie Resource Centre, and wishes it continued success in the years to come”.

The SNP representative for Clackmannanshire and Dunblane, who was a Falklands marine and former veterans’ minister, added: “Over the last three years, it has been great to see the Wee County Veterans Group going from strength to strength, expanding the activities they carry out and supporting veterans across Clackmannanshire.

“I was delighted to join the group at their third birthday party and to submit a motion to the Scottish Parliament recognising the work that they do and wishing them continued success.”
