AN ALLOA man who threatened to reveal sexual footage of his ex-partner was given a community payback order.

Steven Stewart, 26, of Ashley Terrace, appeared at Alloa Sheriff Court on Thursday, September 13, having previously pleaded guilty to a charge of stalking.

The complaint also included repeatedly texting and calling his former partner, turning up at her home during the night uninvited, and sending her a video in which he threatened to harm himself.

Mr Stewart’s defence lawyer, Claire McCarron, told the court that the accused was “highly emotional” and struggling to cope with the breakdown of the pair’s relationship at the time.

She said: “They were in a relationship for six years and he couldn’t accept that it was coming to an end.”

Sheriff David Mackie sentenced Mr Stewart to a period of six months’ supervision, and handed him a CPO with 160 hours of unpaid work, to be completed over 12 months.
