A BRAVE Alloa woman raised hundreds of pounds for charity after jumping out of a plane as part of a workplace fundraiser.

Kimberly Logan, 26, joined fellow staff from Specsavers on the weekend for the Big Jump - a charity skydive in aid of the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB).

Thanks to her jump at St Andrews, the trainee dispensing optician raised £587.50 - well above her initial target of £475.

Kimberly has since thanked all those who assisted her with the fundraiser, and with raising awareness of the RNIB's work.

She said: "Thank you to everyone who helped in raising awareness for the RNIB, I’ve been so lucky to have so much support from friends, family and customers of Specsavers Alloa. I couldn’t have asked for a better turnout, everything went so well and it even stayed dry.

"It was a lovely day thanks to Skydive St. Andrews, fellow fundraisers and Angela Preston from RNIB who very kindly helped to document the Big Jump."

Kimberly's skydive on Sunday, September 23 also marked the beginning of National Eye Health Week, which runs from September 24 - 30.

Specsavers joined forces with RNIB in 2016 to raise awareness of the importance of getting your eyes tested.

The two organisations also use the Eye Health Week to ramp up their efforts to make people aware of the importance of eye tests.

This year, which marks the charity’s 150th anniversary, the partnership is specifically urging Britain’s ageing workforce to keep on top of its eye health.

You can check if you are entitled to a free eye test by checking on the NHS's website.

In the meantime, Kimberly is still collecting funds for the RNIB, and if you want to donate you can find her JustGiving page using this link: justgiving.com/fundraising/kimberly-logan
