STIRLING’S Causewayhead Park has scooped a Green Flag Award for the first time.

The award came from Keep Scotland Beautiful and means there are now five parks in the area with this status.

The accolade recognises the importance of clean, quality and safe outdoor space as well as acces to everyone.

Councillor Jim Thomson, convener of the Environment and Housing Committee, said: “It is brilliant to see Causewayhead Park achieve Green Flag status to make it a fantastic five-star showing for our parks in Stirling.

“The quality of our open spaces plays a big part in making Stirling a must-visit destination and a town where people want to come and spend time and money.

“This prestigious award underlines that we know who our park users are, what they want from their parks and are providing the resources to make sure they enjoy a positive experience.”
