A KIND-HEARTED Muckhart woman is holding a fundraiser where she will perform a Miss Meat Loaf singing routine in aid of the Samaritans charity.

Marilyn Childs Duncan, who works as a professional singer and has performed alongside Paul McCartney, says she hopes to support the organisation with its vital work.

She told the Advertiser: “I decided three months ago to help Samaritans as much as possible, because I think they don’t get as much help as other charities.

“It’s also coming up to Christmas and Facebook is full of suicide stories, so I feel they need more help.

“I thought: ‘I’ll put on an event for them’.”

Marilyn’s fundraiser will be held at Muckhart Golf Club on Friday, November 9, where she will be performing live.

She said: “I’ll do my Miss Meat Loaf show on the night.

“I’m a girl but I sound like Meat Loaf when I sing, so I’ll be doing that.

“There’s also going to be a gorgeous buffet and amazing raffle prizes donated from local companies.”

Those attending will then be able to dance the night away as Marilyn belts out songs from the 60s, right up to today’s hits.

Marilyn, who has organised the entire event herself, says she can’t wait for the night and is amazed at how much she managed to set-up for the fundraiser.

She said: “It’s quite remarkable really. I was out last night delivering leaflets and letting people know it’s on.

“It will be a full live show and it’s going to be a spectacular event.

“And the golf club’s a great venue with lots of parking spaces available too.”

Tickets for the fundraiser are available to buy on Eventbrite, costing £22.15.
