POLICE are investigating the death of a man in the Hillfoots and possible links to a murder in Lanarkshire.

The body of a 36-year-old man was discovered at an address in Tillicoultry on Monday.

However, the day before, a 35-year-old woman was found dead at an address in Coatbridge.

Officers are currently treating the woman's death as suspicious in what is suspected to have been a murder-suicide.

The family of the woman, Lynn Forde, issued a statement in response to their tragic loss.

It read: "Lynn was a beautiful daughter, sister and aunt with a heart of gold who always put everyone first.

"Lynn was totally devoted to her family and had a huge circle of friends who thought the world of her.

"We are heartbroken that she has been taken so soon and thank everyone for their kind messages of support."

Police confirmed they are not looking for anyone else in relation to the deaths.

A spokeswoman said: "At around 3.55pm on Sunday, October 28, the body of a 35-year-old woman was found within a property on Greenside Street, Coatbridge.

"This death is being treated as suspicious and officers were following a positive line of enquiry.

"At around 2.50pm on Monday, October 29, a 36-year-old man was found dead within an address in Tillicoultry.

"His death is currently being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing.

"A full report will be forwarded to the procurator fiscal.

"Officers are not looking for anyone else in connection with the death of the 35-year-old woman."
