IT WAS a record-breaking season for Alva Parish Church, as last month's Autumn Fayre proved to be their most successful one yet.
Taking place on Saturday, October 27, the event featured a variety of stalls, a raffle, and various refreshments, with the proceeds aiding church funds.
And this year’s gathering laid down a marker for the future as it took in more than £3,000 in revenue for the first time ever.
Reverend Jim McNeil said: “It went very well. It was a resounding success and everyone enjoyed themselves.
“We took more than £3,000 for the first time ever, so we’re pleased with the response from our local community, who turned out in their numbers yet again.
“It was £500 more than the last one, which is great news for us.”
It was the only fund-raising event the church plans to hold in the foreseeable future, and it was helped on largely by generous donations from community members, who provided the church with everything from home-made jam to soft furnishings which went on sale at the Fayre.
