A JURY has been shown chilling footage of an Alloa man being marched into a flat at knifepoint shortly before he was stabbed to death.

Mark Harrison, 36, is on trial for the murder of Kyle Watt who was found dead on March 3 of this year at an address on Pine Grove.

Barry Harrison, brother of Mark, has pleaded guilty to the crime and is awaiting sentence.

Both men were originally facing a number of charges. Barry, however, changed his plea last week which saw him admit a single charge which states he did assault Mr Watt by pushing him onto a table, and repeatedly striking him on the head and body with a baseball bat.

The charge goes onto say that Barry repeatedly punched him on the body and head before striking him with a knife causing him to die.

Barry, 44, will now appear as a witness for the prosecution and defence.

Constable Scott Hencher, the first police officer on the scene, described to the High Court in Edinburgh yesterday (Tuesday, November 13) the bloodbath he witnessed as he and a colleague arrived.

He said: “I observed a blood smear on the wall and door of 15. The door facing [17] also blood on it. In the hall you could see the body of a man slumped with his head and shoulders on a couch.

“It looked like there was a lot of blood from the top of his head and his mouth and nose were heavily bloodstained. His chest was also heavily bloodstained.

“His eyes were open as if looking back.”

The court was then shown police video footage from within the property which confirmed the scene PC Hencher described with a couch overturned on its back, a glass table toppled over and the television still on.

The officer said Mr Watt’s head had a 7cm split from the crown which had been partially covered with a couch cushion.

The upper half of his chestwas  completely saturated with blood and there was an orange screwdriver handle lying beside the deceased.

Scattered across the floor was also a number of small plastic bags and tin foil which was indicative of drug use, according to PC Hencher.

The jury, of eight men and seven women, were then shown CCTV from in and outside the close as detective constable Steven McLean described what was being seen.

At 19.36 on the night, the two accused approached the close before being let in by another man, who briefly spoke to them before walking away.

The brothers, both with their hoods up, then calmly walked up the stairs while Mark took a baseball bat out from his trousers. They then entered the flat.

Less than a minute later, Mr Watt is seen running from the property before being struck by Mark causing him to fall to the ground.

Two other men and a woman are seen standing by and watching as Mark drags him off the ground and takes him inside.

Barry is then seen grabbing him and pushing him upstairs to the flat with a knife in his hand. Moments later, the woman leaves the close after everyone re-enters the propery.

Within two minutes and just five minutes after arriving, the brothers leave the close.

Barry can be seen with a cloth near the knife and Mark is swinging a baseball bat in his hand as they leave Pine Grove.

The trial continues.
