WOULD-BE thieves smashed their way inside Dollar Post Office earlier this morning, police have confirmed.
Staff at the Sorting Office on Bridge Street arrived at work to find someone had pulled the metal bars from their stone placings and entered the side window.
Though nothing is believed to have been stolen, an investigation has been launched with an appeal for information put out to members of the public.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "[We] are investigating a break-in to a business premises on Bridge Street in Dollar, which took place at around 2.20am on Monday, November 19.
"Anyone with information about this, or who may have seen suspicious vehicles or persons in the area, is urged to contact Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 0232 of November 19.
"Alternatively, information can be reported anonymously to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
