CLASSIC tales were shared among friends when Banchory Primary School held its Breakfast with Books event this month.
Children, parents and councillors enjoyed a relaxed morning at the Tullibody school to celebrate a love and enthusiasm for reading.
The event was hailed a huge success with every pupil going home with at least one new book for their home.
The school also used the event to launch its Banchory Primary Parents' Hub page on Facebook, aligned with the Parents' Hub section on the school website.
Further embracing modern communications technology, the school also premiered its Banchory Bedtime Story.
It saw depute head David Kerr read aloud a story live via the new Facebook page, reaching more than 1,300 people.
Going forward, the school community can tune into a special bedtime story read out by a mystery guest each time.
According to Mr Kerr, everyone is delighted with a real reading culture being embraced within the school community and beyond.
