AN ALVA man has been sentenced for smacking someone over the head with a pole.
Liam Rodgerson appeared at Alloa Sheriff Court last Thursday, December 13, after pleading guilty during a trial.
Despite going to trial, he decided to plead guilty to the offence after hearing prosecution evidence against him.
His charge states that between April 27 and 28 at Dundas Crescent, Clackmannan, Rodgerson, in concert with another male, assaulted a man by repeatedly striking him on the head and body with a pole.
The 26-year-old proceeded to repeatedly punch the man on the head.
He was also charged with carrying an offensive weapon which was the pole.
Sheriff David Mackie, who presided over the trial, sentenced Rodgerson, of The Nethergate, Alva, to 12 months of supervision.
