A MAN who stole garden ornaments while on heroin after his marriage broke down has been fined.

Neil McGhee pleaded guilty to three charges and appeared for sentencing last Thursday at Alloa Sheriff Court.

The charges show that on September 10 of this year, at Meadow Grove, Kennet, he stole a garden ornament and part of a sundial with a value of £105.

That same day, McGhee stole boots and another garden ornament from a property at Kennet Cottages. The value of these items were £80

Later that day again, he stole a bicycle worth £100.

Kelly Howe, representing the 38-year-old, told the court that her client begun using heroin following the break down of his long term marriage.

Ms Howe added: “He now stays in Perth with his new partner who is fully supportive of him.”

The solicitor went on to say that he is currently on a Community Payback Order from Perth Sheriff Court and has 56 hours of unpaid work left to complete.

Sheriff David Mackie fined McGhee, of Viewfield Place, a total of £215.
