YOUNGSTERS at Abercromby Primary School put on an outstanding performance in their Christmas pantomime last week.

The P7 pupils in Tullibody put on the show of Aladdin Trouble and delivered what was described as a "tinsel-filled, toe-tapping and gag packed show, which left audiences in awe" which was organised by P7 teachers Miss Craig, Miss Stark and Mrs Wilson.

Miss Craig told the Advertiser: "The story was the classic Aladdin tale with a modern panto twist, including the love struck characters Aladdin [Logan Watt] and Jasmine [Hayley Fleming].

"Audiences were blown away by a solo singing performance by Widow Twankey [Lacey Armitage] and sides were splitting during an enthusiastic rendition of "Just 3 wishes" by the Genie [Lewis Swan] and his entourage.

"Other stars of the show included the Evil Abanazar [Marshall Smart] and his wisecracking sidekick Wantu [Shaun Woods].

"All of the children delivered their lines with ease, sang their hearts out and danced in unison to choreography by staff and pupils.

"The show was a real team effort with all pupils getting involved in creating props, scenery and operating the lights and music for the production.

"Special thanks to Mr Gough for creating the wonderful backdrop which set the scene for the whole performance."

The three P7 teachers commented on the hard work and dedication of their pupils and expressed how incredibly proud they are of every individual involved in making the show a resounding success.

Mrs Ferguson, headteacher, said: "The children excelled themselves. The acting, singing and choreography was outstanding, supported by a wonderful stage crew.

"It was a special production given it was the last Christmas Show in our current Abercromby Primary School building."
