THREE men have been charged in the wake of a failed murder bid in Tillicoultry earlier this month.

Two 19-year-olds are accused of the attempted murder of a man following what was described as an “altercation” in Chapelle Crescent on Sunday, December 16.

A further 18-year-old has been charged with assault to severe injury of two 17-year-olds.

Emergency services rushed to the scene in the Hillfoots at around 6.25am.

It is believed the paramedics found an 18-year-old with stab wounds to the body.

He was taken to Forth Valley Royal Hospital with “serious abdomen injuries” as an investigation was launched.

A police spokesman said: “Police in Forth Valley have charged three males following an altercation in Tillicoultry.

“The incident happened around 6.25am in the Chapelle Crescent area of the town on Sunday December 16.

“Two youths, both aged 19, have been charged in connection with the attempted murder of an 18-year-old who was taken to Forth Valley Royal Hospital with serious abdomen injuries.

“A further 18-year-old has been charged in connection with the assault of two 17-year-olds.”

All three of the men appeared at Alloa Sheriff Court on Monday, December 17 where no pleas were made.

They were all remanded in custody and are due to appear again on December 24.
