THERE was a wee Robert Burns themed twist to the monthly meeting of the Menstrie Pensioners Association ahead of Burns Night later this month.

Those who went along to the event, held at the Parish Church Hall on Wednesday, January 16, were treated to a traditional meal and some Scottish music as a nod to the legendary Scots poet.

Edna Crawford, who attended the meeting, told the Advertiser: "It was not a Burns supper as such - it was our monthly meeting, but because it is January we thought that we would give everyone some haggis, neeps and tatties.

"There was about 20 people who came along, and we all enjoyed ourselves and had a really good time."
