TWO people have been arrested after police discovered thousands of pounds worth of cocaine and cannabis at an address in Coalsnaughton.

Working on information they had received, community team officers recovered the drugs earlier today (Friday).

Forth Valley Police Division confirmed, as a result, a 30-year-old woman and 24-year-old man are now in custody and will be reported to the procurator fiscal.

Officers initially estimated the drugs as having a value of £5,000; however, a spokesperson later issued an update on Twitter, saying the amount recovered was £18,000.

Community inspector Mark Murphy said: "Drugs are a scourge on our communities and supply, in particular, will not be tolerated.

"Drug dealing remains a priority for us to continue to make Clackmannanshire a safe place to live."

Anyone with information regarding drug-related criminal activity is urged to contact police on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
