STEVIE McCRORIE has issued a call for young, up and coming musician to support him at his Alloa Town Hall gig next month.

The Wee County singer is returning to the venue on Friday, March 15, but is hoping to give one fellow artist an "opportunity to shine" on the night.

He is asking for a young solo act to record and submit a little sample of their ability before he makes a decision closer to the gig.

Stevie said: "The last time I played Alloa Town Hall I really wanted to do a competition for a young solo act to open the show, but never got round to it.

"The main reason for this is that I think the internet is saturated with talented singers, but I always find the best shine in a live environment.

"That is certainly where I feel I do most, plus it's more exciting than getting my pals to support.

"I played gigs for years and I still remember the first support slots I got singing in front of a big crowd. Those moments really inspired me to continue with my dream of singing.

"Maybe, if it wasn't for this moments I wouldn't have continued and went on to win The Voice, play sold out shows, my favourite festival and reach fans all over the world."

He added: "I'm looking for a young singer, with little experience, to, hopefully, give them an opportunity to shine.

"If you, or someone you know, think that you would be up to it, place a link to a video of you singing/playing in the comments section.

"I'll pick my favourite to open my second headline Alloa Town Hall show.

"Tickets are selling great and I'm hoping another success like last time."
