AN ALLOA resident has appealed for help after her cat vanished from her property late last night.

Marion Levett believes her pet, called Maggie, was stolen from an aviary in her garden at some point between 11pm and 11.30pm on Tuesday, February 12.

The cat went missing after Marion briefly nipped into her home in Ashley Terrace while Maggie, a pure white Persian breed with mustard coloured eyes, was outside.

She told the Advertiser: “Maggie is a house cat, but there’s times when if I go out to the back garden she runs straight out.

“Last night I went out for a cigarette and Maggie brushed past me and went into the aviary, so I closed it over, finished my cigarette and came back into the house.

“I put the lights off, tv off, locked the front door and heard a commotion from the back.

“I went to get her back into the house and the aviary was open and she was gone.”

When asked what she thinks might have happened, she said: “There is no way she could have got out herself.”

Marion subsequently contacted the police, and a spokesperson told the Advertiser: “This incident was reported to us at around 12.50am this morning. Inquiries are continuing.”

In the meantime, Marion has asked anyone with information that could help her find Maggie to get in touch with her - and will provide a reward to anyone whose information proves succesful.
