FORTH VALLEY residents will be able to grill members of their NHS board at an upcoming public review chaired by cabinet secretary for health, Jeane Freeman MSP.

The event has been scheduled to take place between 11.30am and 1pm on Wednesday, March 13 in the lecture theatre at the Hospital in Larbert.

Joining the cabinet secretary will be NHS Forth Valley's chief executive Cathie Cowan, who will outline how the board performed over the past year and discuss plans for the year ahead.

Details will also be provided as to how an extra £17million in funding from the Scottish Government will be used to reduce waiting times at the Forth Valley Royal Hospital.

The public will then be given the opportunity to ask questions, although it will not be possible to get answers to queries regarding specific patient issues.

Ms Cowan said: “I am delighted to welcome the health secretary to NHS Forth Valley as part of our Annual Review.

“Like me, I am sure she will be keen to hear directly from local patients, staff and members of the public on the issues which matter most to them.”

Anyone interested in attending the event should send an email to FV-UHB.YourHealthService@nhs.net.

Alternatively, people can telephone 0800 456 033 to register their attendance.

The deadline for registering is March 1, and people are encouraged to advise staff of any special requirements they may have before the event.
