ALLOA'S Little Stars Nursery celebrated its first year in new premises with an Open Day for parents and youngsters last weekend.

The event, held on Saturday, February 23, saw between 150 to 200 people stop by to take part in a range of fun activities organised by staff.

Maureen Scott, the nursery's manager, told the Advertiser: "We invited people like existing parents and members of the community along to the nursery to have a fun time.

"We did sports activities with the children, face painting, we had a tombola, a raffle and there were arts and crafts too."

Those who attended were also treated to a performance of The Gary Dunn and Chico Fun Show.

Speaking about the show, Maureen said: "It was fantastic – we would definitely get him again.

"It was probably more of a magic show and he made lots of noises that the children thought were hilarious, and the parents got to join in too."

To mark Little Stars' first year in its purpose-built premises at The Pleasures in Alloa, birthday cake was also handed out to attendees on the day.

Maureen added: "Our parents are really supportive, and they do like to attend these open days with us.

"And the children really loved it too – there was lots of laughter.

"I'd just like to thank everyone for their ongoing support and staff for all of their hard work and commitment."
