LOVE was in the air in Tilly on the weekend, as future brides and grooms stopped by the Devonvale Hall Wedding Show.

The event, held during the afternoon on Sunday, February 24, showcased what wedding services were on offer from over 20 local suppliers.

Lauren Urquhart, the show's organiser, told the Advertiser: "There were suppliers for kilt hire, bridal wear, we had one for hen parties and burlesque dancers.

"We also had a fire-breather and a DJ – we had everything really."

A fundraiser was also held on the day, in aid of a charity offering a special wedding service of its own.

Lauren said: "The charity is called Gift of a Wedding, and I seen them on Facebook.

"They organise weddings for couples with terminal illnesses, so when I seen it I thought I'd quite like to raise money for that.

"I contacted them and they said they would be happy to make me one of their fundraisers."

After counting everything up, the wedding show managed to raise a total of £56 for the charity.

When asked how those who attended enjoyed the event, Lauren said: "It was quite quiet, but there has been quite a lot of wedding shows recently.

"But people enjoyed it and the sellers really enjoyed it.

"We're hoping to hold the event again at the end of the year."

She added: "I'd like to thank the stall holders for coming – they all did great; and the brides and grooms that came along too."
