THE Wee County’s reputation as a fast-emerging wedding destination received a boost when two local businesses scooped accolades at an awards ceremony.

With nine nominations, Clackmannanshire was well-represented at this year’s Scottish Wedding Awards.

The Flower Studio in Sauchie received Florist of the Year for central region, just some two years after Sarah Dornan started the business.

She said: “To win it when I’ve only been in business for two-and-a-half-years is really good.”

Inglewood House and Spa in Alloa is no stranger to the wedding awards either and once again came away with a trophy, this time for Wedding Venue of the Year in the central region.

General manager David McGregor said: “It was a fantastic evening and we are over the moon to have won it.”

Narrowly missing out on awards were other local businesses Party People, Flowers by Arrangement, Rhona McCallum Hair, Escoffiers Catering, Eden Rose Design and ButterCream Dream.
