GOOD causes in the Wee County will have the chance to raise funds for themselves with an event hosted by Alloa Rotary Club next month.

The Look Aboot Ye Challenge is set to take place on Saturday, April 27, with a six mile sponsored walk and quiz along the Hillfoots.

It will be a chance for Clackmannanshire charities to raise sponsorship money for themselves and have some fun in the process.

The Rotary arranged everything and is offering a tasty barbecue and the end of it all.

Alistair Spowage, president of the club, explained by saying: “When we ran this event two years ago we had a wide range of participants, grannies and grandpas, Brownies and football teams and of course primary schools.

“The Look Aboot Ye Challenge is designed to be accessible to just about anybody.

“You make your way from the start in Tillicoultry along the Devon Way to Dollar and back.

“Along the way there are fun questions to answer which keeps the journey interesting.

“It is suitable for buggies, bikes, scooters, wheelchairs and of course feet.”

All groups looking to take part need is a sponsorship form, they can then head to the start at Hillfoots Rugby Club between 10am and 11am on the day.

The barbecue, held at the rugby club, will be free, but donations are welcome.

Geoff Storer is the Rotarian in charge for the day, email him at geoff@storer-family.net for the full details and for sponsorship forms.
