POLICE have appealed for anyone with information about a horror smash on the A82 on Friday afternoon to contact them.

A 99-year-old woman died in the accident near Luss at around 2.50pm on March 29.

The woman was a passenger in a black Vauxhall Astra travelling southbound on the road at around 2.50pm on Friday, March 29, when it collided with a mini bus travelling in the opposite direction. 

The woman, who has yet to be named, died at the scene, while the 73-year-old driver of the vehicle was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital, Paisley, for treatment. 

Medics describe her condition as stable.

The driver and five passengers within the minibus sustained minor injuries and did not require to go to hospital. 

The road was closed for several hours for accident recovery and investigation work; it eventually reopened in full at around 10pm on Friday.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them on 101. 

A report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.
