A CHARITY dance workshop raked in the money at the weekend with a talented Wee County youngster collecting for a nationwide cause.

Teigan Comrie, who is netting cash for the STV Children’s Appeal through her involvement in Strictly Kids 2019 – a show for young people based on the original TV hit, raised around £400 with the event on Sunday, April 14.

The 13-year-old organised the event at Hawkhill Community Centre with three professional dance choreographers holding classes for young people.

Themes included Latin fusion, street and hip-hop and ballroom dancing, which Teigan is practising for the show, having come through the auditions.

According to Teigan’s mum Gayle Stocks, everyone had a great time while taking the chance to learn some moves.

The event took their running total for the charity into four digits and having already smashed their original target of £500, they are now hoping to collect as much as £1,500.

Thanks go to everyone who went along on the day, also to Hawkhill for providing the hall free of charge.

A further nod of thanks goes to the Sauchie-based events hire company Party People for their donation of an “amazing” display of balloons.

Hats off too to studio principals Daneille McKinsley and Natalie Macaulay of Just Dance Elite, also based in Sauchie, where Teigan trains.
