THE SNP in Stirling has launched its European Parliament election campaign.

Electors will go to the polls on May 23, unless Westminster agrees a Brexit deal beforehand.

Margaret Ferrier, one of six SNP candidates in Scotland, was joined by local activists at the weekend for a day of action in St Ninians.

Margaret served as the MP for Rutherglen and Hamilton West from 2015 to 2017.

She is elected to the Party's National Executive Committee and sits on the internal Campaign Committee.

Since the 2017 election, she has campaigned in by-elections across the country.

Other candidates include current MEP Alyn Smith, French-born EU national and former North East MSP Christian Allard, former environment minister Aileen McLeod, Tweeddale councillor Heather Anderson and Alex Kerr, who is the chair of the Shettleston Branch.

Margaret Ferrier said: “I'm delighted to be one of the SNP candidates standing in the European Parliament Elections on the 23rd May.

"I've been up and down the country, supporting local by-elections over the past two years, and have seen first-hand how fantastic Scotland's industries, produce and people are. I want to protect the very best of Scotland.

"I am a firm believer that, together, we can hold and protect Scotland's position in the EU, and I pledge to work to ensure that this is exactly what happens.

"A vote for the SNP is a vote to ensure that Scotland's voice is heard loudly and clearly across the whole of Europe."
