SAUCHIE residents were treated to a performance by an award-winning Slovenian choir.

Musica Viva took to the stage to perform in front of a packed audience over the weekend of June 24 and 25.

The choir is world-renowned and has performed all over, including America, France, Italy and Germany, thrilling audiences with their acapella singing and stunning harmonies.

Organised by the Sauchie Community Group, members of the Sauchie Choir also got to perform on the night as well, with Donald Cowan, Andrew Fowler, Craig Miller and Alastair Faulkner getting a chance to shine too.

Craig Miller, Sauchie Community Group Choir master, said: “It was a wonderful evening of musical delight and a great opportunity to showcase our local talent to such a successful choir.

“This was also a chance for us to listen and to be in complete awe of the musical talents and expertise of Musica Viva.

“Opportunities like this don’t come up very often, so when the opportunity arose for Sauchie Community Group to hose a choir from Slovenia, we jumped at the idea.

“I am so glad we did, because it ended up being a truly special evening. Not only from the singing, which was outstanding, but also the fun and laughter we had with meeting the choir.

“It is a night that will be remembered for a long time.”

“We are very grateful to our local talent who, once again, gave up their time and talent for free to help us out. Thank you to Laura Turner who helped to make the venue so special.”

Sauchie Community Group Choir meets every Wednesday at 7pm in Sauchie Resource Centre. Scatoosh Singing Group meets on Tuesday nights at 7pm as well.
