A YOUTH was knocked out after being attacked by a drunk man in Alva.

The assailant was 29-year-old Lewis Hutcheson, of Cobden Street, Alva, who appeared at Alloa Sheriff Court representing himself.

He admitted that on June 5, 2022 at West Stirling Street, he assaulted a youth by punching him on the head, pushing him on the body, causing him to fall to the ground and then repeatedly kicked him on the head, rendering his unconscious, to his injury.

Depute fiscal Sarah Smith said the victim was aged 16 and had been out with friends that night.

At around 12.30am the youth was alone and waiting for a taxi when Hutcheson appeared.

He was bleeding from a wound to his head and was intoxicated shouting: “I want the name of who done this to me.”

He walked up to the youth and struck him, causing him to fall then kicked him twice to the head when he was lying on the ground.

He lost consciousness and the victim could later only remember being pushed then coming around when he was on the ground.

The court was told Hutcheson later apologised to the victim via Facebook.

Sheriff Garry Sutherland ordered Hutcheson to pay the victim £1000 compensation.
